Mary J. Blige

White Flowers

“Family Affair”: is a 2001 hit song for Mary J. Blige, produced by Dr. Dre. It was taken from her fifth album, No More Drama, and was responsible for popularizing the terms “hateration” and “dancery” in the US. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks, and was Blige’s first Hot 100 number one single.

This live, unedited recording of “Family Affair” was recorded for the popular British TV show “Top of the Pops.” The unedited version of the song was recorded at the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, New York with famed BBC Executive Producer Chris Cowey.
